This Browning Auto-5, manufactured by FN in Belgium in 1972, is a 20-gauge semi-automatic shotgun utilizing the long-recoil operating system. This example is the ultra-rare Super Lightweight (SLW) model – a factory FN alloy receiver version of the Auto 5. These guns are exceptionally light, and exceptionally rare, having never been imported into the United States by Browning. Additionally, this example sports a factory alloy trigger guard to reduce weight even further. This example also features the Val Browning two-part carrier system, which enables the “speed loading” these guns became famous for. As an early example of a Super Light Weight, the receiver sports the rare European-market anti-glare finish.

This shotgun’s barrel sports a vent rib and improved cylinder choke – making it equally well suited for skeet shooting, sporting clays, and close-in upland hunting. The gun is in great shape, and would make an excellent shooter (the Browning friction system on a gun this light is still very smooth) or a fantastic collector’s piece!

The Browning Superlightweight Auto 5s are already special, but the 20 gauge versions are something else – it shouldn’t be possible for a gun this light to be this nice to shoot.
