Up for auction is an exceptionally rare Italian-made Danish Contract M1 Garand Receiver, also known by the Danes as the Gevaer m/50. The Danes only ordered 10,000 such guns from Beretta, one of the most renowned arms manufacturers of Italy. They also contracted some 10,000 from Breda. These are well regarded as some of the best-made M1 receivers of all time.

If desired, for an additional $250, I will install a new barrel and headspace it tightly to the bolt you provide, or provide you a bolt for an added cost. I also offer BM59 conversion services for $500.

What makes these special?

Springfield, IHC, Winchester, and the others all made hundreds of thousands, even millions, of Garands. This is an exceptionally interesting gun–an American design, made finely in Italy, on contract for the Danes, who used them proudly. They are as rare as they are interesting, and this represents a unique opportunity to assemble a rare Garand with commonly available parts.

Each receiver originates from the Danish m/50 program. The configuration supports installation of standard M1 Garand barrels and operating assemblies. No accessories or additional components are included unless separately purchased. The item represents an Italian-made M1 Garand receiver suitable for assembly with compatible .30-06 parts or adaptation to BM59 configuration with conversion.
