Japanese Arisaka Type 38 Long Rifle

6.5x50mm Arisaka • Koishikawa (Tokyo) Arsenal • Mum Present

Details

  • Arsenal: Koishikawa (Tokyo Arsenal), pre-1935 production
  • Model: Type 38 long rifle
  • Caliber: 6.5x50mm Arisaka
  • Type: Bolt-action rifle
  • Chrysanthemum (mum): Present, worn
  • Dust cover: Present

Condition

Fair condition overall. The mum is present but worn, the bore is poor, and the stock is cracked. The dust cover, which often goes missing, is still with the rifle. Review all photos closely, since they’re part of the description.

Why it’s worth a look

The Type 38 was Japan’s standard infantry rifle from the Russo-Japanese War era into WWII. Examples with the mum still intact and the dust cover in place are getting harder to find, which makes this a good candidate for a display piece or a restoration project.
