Up for auction is a Franchi 48AL. The Franchi 48 series shares the Browning Auto 5’s ingenious friction brake recoil reduction system – offering exceptionally smooth recoil impulse when properly adjusted to the loads you are using.  The aluminum receiver makes this a very light, handy gun, but the friction brake recoil system takes the edge off the recoil you’d expect from a gun this light.

This example is the rare “El Dorado” special edition – sporting an exciting engraving pattern that features jungle animals and game birds. Most game wardens agree that this gun shouldn’t be used for shooting at jungle cats, but it would be great for game birds.

With its improved modified choke, this example would also make for a great sporting clays or trap gun. In terms of condition, there is a small stock crack on the left side, close to the receiver. The stock fits tight and this crack does not appear to be spreading, and these sorts of cracks are typical to see on Franchis and can be easily repaired. Additionally, it appears that the muzzle of the barrel was dinged into something at some point, and there is a minor dent in the muzzle as a result. This could be polished out or just left as-is.
