The Greener GP is a classic British sporting gun – based on the tried-and-true action of the famous Martini-Henry, the GP was introduced to provide the same manual of arms in a shotgun.

Various models based on the GP were made, including harpoon guns, and police/riot guns. Like most GPs, this gun is a takedown model, and after removing the takedown screw, the barrel can be easily removed for easier transport or for cleaning.

Equal parts interesting and functional, the GP is a joy to use for trapshooting, hunting, or for pest control. It’s also an excellent gun for learning the sport of shotgun shooting, as it is uncomplicated and reliable. Note that, like most GPs, this example has an automatic safety that engages when the action is opened. A gunsmith can disable this feature if desired, though there’s something characteristically British about automatic safeties that is fun to use.

But, even if sporting guns aren’t your thing, the GP offers a way to enjoy the Martini action with affordable 12ga ammo, and with a solidly build action that isn’t an antique meant for black powder. This example is proofed for modern 2 3/4″ 12ga loads.
